Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12, 2005

Directions to Saturday’s Launch Site: Child’s Bridge where the Taunton River crosses Cherry Street at the Bridgewater/Halifax line.
PLEASE be there at 9AM!

From Route 24 take Exit 15 – Route 104 East towards Bridgewater. Follow Route 104 through Bridgewater Center bearing as if you were headed to Bridgewater State College. Stay on Route 104 towards Halifax. After a mile away from Bridgewater State College – look for Walnut Street on your Right and take it! Follow Walnut Street for just under a mile (8/10 of mile) and bear Left onto Cherry Street. Stay on Cherry Street to a stop sign and turn Left. The Cherry Street Bridge is ½ mile ahead.

Directions to Titicut Reservation: (our resting-place for Saturday evening): this location is accessed by a dirt road entrance off Beech Street in Bridgewater. The best way to get there is from Route 18 (it is Route 28, too). From Route 495, take exits 5 and 6 to the Middleboro Rotary – follow the signs for Route 28 and 18 North towards Bridgewater. Continue until the second set of traffic lights. Here, take a left onto Plymouth Street and follow it over the Taunton River; bear Right onto Vernon Street; then take a quick left onto Beech Street. The dirt road entrance to Titicut is several hundred yards up on the Left. Dancing Star will be our guest of honor giving us a Native Indian historical presentation.

Directions to Sunday’s Take Out Site at Weir Village in Taunton: From the North or East: use Route 138 South or Route 44 West to the City of Taunton Green. Take a Right onto Route 138 South (Weir Street). Continue on Weir Street staying to the Left of the Exxon gas station. You will travel to the Weir Village Center. Turn Left onto the bridge and then take an immediate right onto East Water Street and shortly look for river exit ramp area on your right in the Riverfront Park. From the South: Take Route 140 North past the Route 24 interchange to a set of lights at Hart Street where you will turn Left onto Hart Street. Proceed on Hart Street past the railroad tracks and bear right onto Plain Street. At the bottom of Plain Street, turn Left before the bridge onto East Water Street and look for the take out site.
