Taunton River Pathways

Pathways of the Taunton Project (through a special grant from NPS) to design, create, and install informational kiosks at seven key river access points on the Taunton River from Bridgewater to Somerset to encourage people to experience the river; the project also garnered hundreds of hours of in-kind and volunteer labor from local highway and public works staff for installation.

Nunckatessett Greenways

The Nunckatessett Greenway Project is an effort to create a non-motorized network of land and water trails along the 14-mile Town River and the regional Bay Circuit Trail in order to provide links to public conservation areas and the centers of West Bridgewater and Bridgewater, and to walking trails at Bridgewater State University. The vision is to connect the two communities to their natural history, and to their past through the reuse of historical sites such as Holmes’ Hill, War Memorial Park, Iron Works Park, Stiles & Hart Conservation Parkland and the Town River Landing. The program is being carried out by the Natural Resources Trust of Bridgewater, a local non-profit (501 (c) 3) serving the Bridgewaters for over a decade.
